Pat Brown, treasurer of Laird Memorial Hospital Auxiliary signed a check for $20,000 Wedneday. The Auxiliary has essentially ceased to exist since the closing of Laird Memorial Hospital and the check empties their organization's bank account. The money will endow a permanent scholarship fund for students in health-related studies at the college.
