Playing at home continued to be a good thing for the East Texas Pump Jacks on Wednesday night, as they picked up another win over Coppell. More ... As the state all-star baseball tournaments begin, three Kilgore teams are still going to be playing, one more has been eliminated, and two have yet to even begin. More ... The Kilgore youth tennis league, which divides players by ages and pits Kilgore players against teens from other programs, continued on Tuesday, with Kilgore splitting three decisions with Gladewater. The 16-year-olds from Kilgore got the team win, 28-12. Representing Kilgore were Chelsey Cox (right), Trent Raby (below), Eric Applegate, Monte Broussard, Naomi Worden, Shivani Patel, and Meredith Gregg. Kilgore's 14-yearolds also won, outlasting Gladewater 30-7. Playing for Kilgore here were Chance Osteen, Sabrina Barnfield, Nathan Barnfield, Devon Tankersley, and Daniel Medford. Kilgore had to default a few matches in the 12- year-old division because of not having enough boys. Gladewater edged Kilgore, 24-21. Playing for Kilgore were Nash Best, Sarah Toler, Ally Venable, and Katy Raby. Kilgore is back in action next Thursday in Gladewater against Spring Hill. (Thanks to Jason Maroney for these results.)
