VETS GIVE HELPING HAND
Helping Hands received a $1,000 helping hand this week from members of the Disabled Veterans of America Auxiliary, Chapter 21 in Kilgore. Friday morning Judy Cotton, DAVA treasurer, presented the check to Jerry Hurt, Helping Hands vice president and a member of the Disabled American Veterans. DAVA held garage and bake sales and sold cookbooks to raise the money. Hurt said the food pantry was in dire need of two new freezers and now can afford to purchase them. |
