SPINNING SOME YARN

2009-06-27 / News

Texas storyteller Shelly Kneupper Tucker spun some tales and a little yarn as well on her spinning wheel at the Kilgore Community House on Wednesday. In town thanks to Kilgore Public Library and a grant from the Texas Commission on the Arts, Tucker told the kids she learned about spinning and weaving from library books and she encouraged them to read for fun and for knowledge. Tucker shared tales of wisdom with the children and told youngsters what their duties would have been in days past when it came to the art of spinning thread and weaving cloth.
