T-ballers, 7-8 Nationals keep on rolling
Several others begin play this week
HE'S IN THERE — Zane Dent (32) of the KBBA 7-and-8 year-old American League all-stars slides in at home during a district tournament game here over the weekend, as teammate Isiah Smith (84) looks on. The National all-stars are finished, but several other KBBA all-star teams are still playing — keep up with them here in the sports section and on kilgorenewsherald.com. One of the farthest road trips for a Kilgore Boys Baseball Association (KBBA) all-star team this year is the trip being made by the 7-and-8 year-old National League all-stars, coached by Bubba Keel, Dickie McFarland, Jeff Davis and Tony Witt.
But so far, it's been worth it. The 7-and-8 Nationals came from behind Monday night, trailing Nacogdoches 6-0, for an 11-7 victory.
The National all-stars have a loss, so they can't lose again. But they were to play again Tuesday night at 6, and a win moves them into the championship round and a rematch with Nac. If that happens, that championship game would have followed at 8.
See an update on these games on the Kilgore News Herald's website, kilgorenewsherald. com.
