MONDAY

KILGORE MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH will host Vacation Bible School 6:30-8:30 p.m. June 22-26. Kids will hop on board the Boomerang Express as they take a train ride across the Land Down Under. As they wind their way through Australia, they will discover the vastness of God's love and learn that no matter where they go or what they do in life, it all comes back to Jesus. VBS is for children ages 3 years to high school. The church is located at 223 Harris St.

TUESDAY

FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH OF DANVILLE and Danville Ministries will host a one-night Ladies Conference featuring guest speaker Iris Blue, "I went down a tramp and came up a lady." A free meal will be served at 6:30 p.m. June 30, followed by the program. A love offering will be taken. For reservations call 903- 895-4577 or 903-736-0609. The Rusk County Democratic Club will meet on June 23, at 7 p.m. in the community room of Henderson Federal Savings, 130 N. Marshall. The public is invited.

DANVILLE CEMETERY ASSOCIATION annual meeting is 11 a.m. June 25 at the cemetery for memorial services. Lunch will follow; bring your favorite foods. SATURDAY

WHOLE HEART QUARTET will be in concert 6 p.m. June 20 at Danville United Methodist Church. All are welcome to attend this free gospel event. Danville UMC is located at 2187 Danville Road.

VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED to help Virginia Hudson and her crew spread mulch and work in the Shakespeare Garden on Brook Drive at Hwy. 259, next to the Anne Dean Turk Fine Arts Center. Works begins at 7 a.m. June 20. Bring your gloves and help make the garden attractive for visitors to the upcoming Shakespeare Festival!

NEW HOPE MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH will welcome Pastor-Elect Donald E. Daniels Sr. and First Lady Trinitta Daniels during a pre-installation celebration 6:30 p.m. June 27, with the Rev. Earl Bonner as guest speaker. The installation celebration will be 3 p.m. Sunday, June 28, with the Rev. J.B. Dunlop as guest speaker. Rev. Daniels is a Longview native who has bee in the ministry for 18 years. New Hope is located on CR 292, Kilgore.

A BLOOD DRIVE to benefit Lacretia Montana will be held 1 to 5 p.m. June 28 at First Baptist Church of Danville. Ms. Montana has breast cancer and all blood donations to Carter Blood Care during this drive will be credited to her account. Each donor will receive a free T-shirt and non-fasting cholesterol test. JUSTIN CLINTON MEMORIAL FUND has been set up at Regions Bank to defray the costs of the 10-year-old's funeral. Justin was killed by two bulldogs in Leverett's Chapel on Monday and his family does not have insurance. Donations may be made at any Regions Bank in East Texas or mailed to: Justin Clinton Memorial Fund, c/o Regions Bank, P.O. Box 7777, Kilgore, Texas 75662.

KILGORE COLORED HIGH/C.B. DANSBY SCHOOL REUNION will be held July 3-6. This year's theme is "Passing the Torch"; African attire. CHRIST FEST '09, presented by 33 The Ministry, is set for 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, July 18, at Kilgore City Park. Admission is free. The concert features John Waller with special guests Shana Strange and Curtain Place, along with Blood Kin and Back on Track. Bring your lawn chairs or blankets. Concessions available.
