KC seeks nominees for awards

Kilgore College is looking for nominees for its annual Ex-Student, Ex-Teacher, Distinguished Alumni and Honored Retiree of the Year awards.

According to Paula Jamerson, coordinator of alumni relations, recipients of the awards will be honored during homecoming on Oct. 3.

Nominations for the Ex-Student of the Year award should be someone who has stayed committed to the success of KC, while the Distinguished Alumi should include graduates who have highly excelled in their field.

The Honored Retiree of the Year award will be awarded to a former non-faculty member of KC who has contributed to the college's excellence over the years, and the Ex-Teacher of the Year award will be given to an outstanding former KC educator.

The KC Ex-Students Association officers will meet this summer to review nominations and will make an announcement of the recipients prior to the start of school in August.

The college has awarded one Ex-Teacher of the Year annually since 1972, and The Ex- Student of the Year award has been given annually since 1975. This year's recipient will be the college's 35th Ex-Student of the Year.

The Distinguished Alumni and Honored Retiree award categories were added last year.

To nominate someone for one of these awards, send a letter of recommendation to Jamerson.

Nominations for these awards should be submitted to the college by June 20.
