MARTHA PROPES HOWETH

Services for Martha "Mia" Propes Howeth, 86, of Dallas, formerly of Kilgore will be Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at 2 p.m. in the at Knowles Chapel of St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Kilgore with the Rev. Darwood Galaway officiating. Interment will follow at Rusk County Memorial Gardens.

Mia, as she was affectionately known, was born on June 24, 1922, in Groesbeck, to Travis & Martha Ogilvie. She graduated from Kilgore High School and married her high school sweetheart, Donald Lloyd Propes. In 1976, she married Fonza Howeth. Mrs. Howeth was a homemaker, manager of Famous Fabrics, and a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Teresa Thrash and husband, Gene; son, Kenneth Propes and wife, Melinda; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husbands Donald Propes and Fonza Howeth, her daughter Margaret Ann and sonin law Jerry Cochran.
