Abercrombie, Hubbard top Boys, Girls club members

A pair of Kilgore students have been named Members of the Month by Kilgore Boys and Girls Club.

6 to 9 Age Group

Seven year old Member of the Month for May, 2009 is Ja'da Abercrombie. She is a 2nd grader at Chandler Elementary School. Her favorite subject in school is recess and favorite activity at the Club is to play bumper pool. Bike riding is her hobby. Five years from now Ja'- da hopes to make enough money to buy her mom a gold necklace thanks to the inspirations of her Mom. According to Ja'da the Club means "a place to come and have fun with her friends."

10 to 12 Age Group Eleven year old Member of the Month for May, 2009 is Jonathan Hubbard. He is a 7th grader at Maude Laird Middle School. His favorite subject in school is math and favorite activity at the Club is to play football. Fishing is his favorite hobby. Five years from now Jonathan hopes to go to college and become a meteorologist thanks to the inspirations of his Grandpa Felton. According to Jonathon the Club means "a place to be respectful and have fun."

The member of the month is expected to display good citizenship and leadership. He or she participates in a wide range of activities at the club. They not only participate but they volunteer and help other kids within the activities with their age group.
