Ruth Anne Camp, Peggy Bowne and Dianna Jones of the Social Committee were hostesses.

Preceding the meeting, members enjoyed a sack lunch catered by The Nanny Goat.

President Carroll Bolton called the meeting to order and asked committee chairmen and officers for their reports. Legislative chairman Lauren Cunyus told members there was very little activity in Austin, and Civic chairman Ellen Watson advised members of several summer activities they could enjoy.

Mica Mitchell was nominated and accepted as a new member. Ellen Watson reported four selections had been placed in the Methodist Church's library as memorials for Velma Dickson.

Since this was the last meeting of the club year, those officers who will serve during 2009-10 were installed. Wanda Bittick conducted the installation and she chose "Going Green" as her theme. She told members, "...things are now turning green. We think about our environment, our world, our cars and our energy... new and better ways of doing things but yet still the same."

This year's new president will be Ruth Anne Camp. Bittick called her the "Green Charger" since she is charged with maintaining the aims, interests and accomplishments of the club.

Carolyn Kennedy is the new first vice president. Bittick dubbed her the "Second In Command Green Charger" because she will preside in the president's absence.

Second vice president will be Patsy Abernathy. Her name is the "New Energy Machine." She plans socials and is the membership chairman.

Marion Dovel, secretaryreporter, is called "Green Internet" because she keeps records and reports on club activities.

Treasurer Virginia Wallace is the new "Green Pen Controller." Her job is to collect monies and pay bills.

Historian Eukie Greutink is the "Creative Green Designer" who collects and preserves memories for the scrapbook.

Parliamentarian Carroll Bolton is the "Guardian of the Green" who will act as counselor concerning parliamentary law.

Bittick concluded by wishing the club a good year filled with new insights of the color green as they study political people and events.
