FRIDAY OVERTON BLUEGRASS FESTIVAL is Friday and Saturday, June 12-13, at Overton City Park. Concert hours are 1 to 10:45 p.m. on Friday, and noon to 11 p.m. on Saturday. Ticket prices are $15 for Friday, $20 for Saturday, or $25 for both days. Children under 16 are admitted free when accompanied by a ticketed adult. Student tickets are half price. In addition to the great music, the festival features arts and crafts, children's activities and workshops on guitar, banjo, dobro, mandolin, fiddle, bass and songwriting. If you would like to donate items, drop them off at the elementary campus on June 5 after 10 a.m. NATIONAL FISHING DAY June 6 at the Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center in Athens includes free admission for kids 12 and under plus free fishing for the whole family and free hot dogs and drinks from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Visitors can walk the wetlands trail; see a diver hand feed fish; learn about the history of fishing in the freshwater fishing museum; and watch the alligator feeding.
