KC CHEERLEADERS SUMMER CAMP is open to boys and girls ages 5-12. The camp is set for 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 17-19 in the Parks Fitness Center on the KC campus. Cost is $100. THURSDAYS IN THE PATCH returns June 18 with "Shake, Rattle and Roll" under the derricks of the World's Richest Acre Park. The free, one-hour concert begins at 6:30 p.m. This quartet of East Texas ladies sing tunes from the 1950s and '60s. Everyone is invited to spend an hour going down memory lane.

OVERTON BLUEGRASS FESTIVAL is Friday and Saturday, June 12-13, at Overton City Park. Concert hours are 1 to 10:45 p.m. on Friday, and noon to 11 p.m. on Saturday. Ticket prices are $15 for Friday, $20 for Saturday, or $25 for both days. Children under 16 are admitted free when accompanied by a ticketed adult. Student tickets are half price. In addition to the great music, the festival features arts and crafts, children's activities and workshops on guitar, banjo, dobro, mandolin, fiddle, bass and songwriting. NATIONAL FISHING DAY June 6 at the Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center in Athens includes free admission for kids 12 and under plus free fishing for the whole family and free hot dogs and drinks from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Visitors can walk the wetlands trail; see a diver hand feed fish; learn about the history of fishing in the freshwater fishing museum; and watch the alligator feeding. No fishing license is required anywhere in the state on the first Saturday in June, which is designated Free Sportfishing Day. The center is four miles east of Athens on FM 2495.
