BOOK DISCUSSION GROUP, will meet Tuesday, June 2, at 2 p.m. at the Kilgore Public Library. The group meets monthly to discuss both fiction and non-fiction. Visitors are always welcome.

THURSDAY

THURSDAY IN THE PATCH, sponsored by the Kilgore Historic Preservation Foundation, will host "Shake, Rattle, & Roll" in concert at the World's Richest Acre Park 6:30 p.m. June 18. Bring your lawn chair and come out and enjoy an hour of free music and entertainment.

KILGORE & KC DUCKS UNLIMITED BANQUET will be 6 p.m. June 18, at Bodacious Bar-B-Q at I-20 and Hwy 42 North. Advance tickets cost $35 for a single, $50 for a couple and $20 for a youth (ages 17 and under) if purchased in advance. SATURDAY

EAST TEXAS DAYLILY SOCIETY will hold an informal (i.e non-judged) daylily show in the Center Court of Tyler's Broadway Square mall on June 6. KHS CLASS OF '89 REUNION will be Friday and Saturday, June 12-13. Several events are planned, including dinner Friday night at the Country Tavern, golf and "Fun at the Park" at Kilgore City Park Saturday, followed by dinner and a dance at Grant Boyd's Barn, featuring the "Voodudes." HEARING LOSS ASSOCIATION, Longview chapter, will meet Saturday, June 6, at 10:15, McCabe-United Methodist Church, 1115 S. Mobberly. Following light refreshments, Lynn McWhorter will speak on his experiences using sign language with deaf and hard of hearing children in Russia. Assistive listening devices will be provided.

FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH ORGAN RECITAL featuring Dr. David Heller on the church's world-renowned Aeolian- Skinner Organ at 4 p.m. May 31. All are invited to this recital, presented in memory of Edward and Velma Dickson. Dr. Heller has been a member of the faculty of Trinity University in San Antonio since 1986 as Professor of Music and University Organist.

EAST TEXAS OIL MEN'S ASSOCIATION will host the 47th Annual East Texas Treatment Center Golf Classic Friday and Saturday, June 12-13, at Meadowbrook Country Club. Two-person team scramble, 36 holes, for amateurs only. Benefits the ETTC, a non-profit rehabilitation facility that provides therapy services to all patients regardless of ability to pay. UPSHUR COUNTY COMMUNITY PLAYERS will present "Catch a Falling Star," an adult comedy by Lee Murphy. Productions at the Gilmer Civic Center, Hwy. 271 North, will be 7 p.m. Saturday, May 30, and 2 p.m. Sunday, May 31. Adults, $15 and students $5. The box office is open one hour before each performance. The play takes place on the converted back porch of the Wakely home in Dewey, Texas, during the summer of 1980.
