EVELYN SHORES
Mrs. Shores was born March 14, 1914, daughter of the late W.W. and Kate Horner. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Kilgore. Mrs. Shores was a homemaker and along with her late husband Mr. C.D. Shores they owned and operated the 8-10 Food Store in Kilgore in the 1960's and 1970's. Evelyn volunteered at Roy H. Laird Memorial Hospital and will be remembered as a hard working and very charitable woman. She is survived by her two daughters, Charlotte Honea of Kilgore, Frances Daily of Illinois; son, Perry Combest and his wife Sandi of Denton, Texas; three grandchildren, Brad Wild of San Antonio, Texas, Jaqueline Wilson and her husband Rock of Travers City, Michigan, Baron Honea and his wife, Kari of Muldrow, Oklahoma; seven great-grandchildren, Emily, Katie, Kyleigh, Blondie, Rebecca, Aaron and Aubrey; several nieces and nephews.
