EVELYN SHORES

Services for Evelyn Shores, 95, of Kilgore will be Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at Two O'clock in the afternoon in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Kilgore with Reverend David Hampton officiating. Burial will follow at Kilgore Cemetery. The family will receive friend at the funeral home Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Mrs. Shores was born March 14, 1914, daughter of the late W.W. and Kate Horner. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Kilgore. Mrs. Shores was a homemaker and along with her late husband Mr. C.D. Shores they owned and operated the 8-10 Food Store in Kilgore in the 1960's and 1970's. Evelyn volunteered at Roy H. Laird Memorial Hospital and will be remembered as a hard working and very charitable woman.

She is survived by her two daughters, Charlotte Honea of Kilgore, Frances Daily of Illinois; son, Perry Combest and his wife Sandi of Denton, Texas; three grandchildren, Brad Wild of San Antonio, Texas, Jaqueline Wilson and her husband Rock of Travers City, Michigan, Baron Honea and his wife, Kari of Muldrow, Oklahoma; seven great-grandchildren, Emily, Katie, Kyleigh, Blondie, Rebecca, Aaron and Aubrey; several nieces and nephews.
