TWO MORE LADY RANGERS MOVING ON!

2009-05-13 / Sports

Courtesy photos from Kilgore College Two more Kilgore College sophomores — Ashley Ferrell of Fort Worth (left) and Sylvia Hoffman of Arlington (below) — have signed letters of intent to continue their education and their basketball careers together. The girls will move on to LSU-Shreveport, and KC head women's basketball coach Roy Thomas was pleased to announce both on Monday. Hoffman and Ferrell were key components of a Lady Rangers team that reached the Region XIV Conference women's tournament finals, falling to Trinity Valley and falling just short of making the national tournament. The 23-win season, Thomas' third as head coach, was Kilgore College's best since 2000. Ferrell and Hoffman join teammates Denetra Kellum and Janae Henderson, who signed with North Texas and with Fort Smith (Ark.) last week.
