Kilgore's sales tax allocation tax check in May dropped almost 11 percent and $100,000 compared to the same period last year, according to the Texas Comptroller's Office. This week the city received a check for $845,944.44, down 10.72 percent from the $947,534.39 received last May. The city's tax rate is 1.5 percent.
