THANKS FOR A GREAT SOCCER SEASON!
Kilgore High School's soccer programs, both girls and boys, were honored for success in the recently-completed 2009 seasons. Both programs, led by coaches Amanda Farmer (in her third season) and Michael Bradshaw (in his first) made the Class 4A playoffs this season, and were recognized at the annual soccer banquet, held Thursday at the First Baptist Church fellowship hall. The banquet was sponsored and hosted by the KHS soccer booster club, and dinner was provided by Kelly Group Catering. Video highlights of both teams were shown, and junior varsity programs, coached by Alice Crocker and by Joey Pippen, were also honored. The JV boys won their district in convincing fashion. The girls varsity lost in the first round of the playoffs and the boys varsity lost in the third round to Pine Tree. Above, left: members of the girls team look are all smiles after collecting awards. Top right: Bradshaw (center) congratulates members of the varsity boys on their first playoff run since 2005. Congratulations, Kilgore soccer!
