Big day for four KHS stars
COLLEGE FOOTBALL
      National Signing Day is always a busy February day at Kilgore High School, and that was the case again this morning, with four Bulldogs signing national letters of intent and a fifth chair, while vacant, representing another KHS player off to the University of Texas.

      Kilgore College head football coach J.J. Eckert can't yet say "mission accomplished," like a lot of coaches can, just because the Rangers had a good morning on National Signing Day.

Sabine teams rout EF
COLLEGE FOOTBALL
      Elysian Fields High School's basketball teams were both just simply outmatched Tuesday night, hosting Sabine High School's programs — which both lead District 18-2A. Coach Paul Bell's Sabine Lady Cardinals had little trouble with EF, winning 71- 32 to remain atop the 18-2A girls standings (along with Harmony). Sabine's girls are 25-5 overall, 11-1 in 18-2A.

Kilgore boys top Lions
HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL
      It was a bittersweet night at Kilgore High School gymnasium on Tuesday, with the "bitter" coming first and the "sweet" coming later. Kilgore High School's basketball programs split with Henderson, with the Lady Bulldogs losing a close 35-32 battle, and the Bulldogs beating Henderson 58-46 in a game not quite as close as the final score would indicate.

Boys sweep Atlanta; girls tie with Nac
HIGH SCHOOL SOCCER
      It's the final week before District 32-4A play begins for both Kilgore High School soccer teams. The Lady Bulldogs played to a scoreless tie with Nacogdoches Tuesday night. Kilgore's girls will play at Jacksonville on Friday night, and that's the final tune-up before they'll host Pine Tree on Tuesday. The Lady 'Dogs are coached by Amanda Farmer and Alice Crocker.
