"They bring nothing but joy and excitement to our congregation and to our community when they come," said Pastor Donnie Bebe. "This makes the third year in a row the Children of the World, International Children's Choir will be performing at Grace Baptist Temple," he said.
The choir is comprised of orphaned and disadvantaged children from several different countries and is directed by Dr. Kathy Sorensen from Salt Lake City.
The ICC performs music of many lands and they perform in many lands. Across the waters, this group of young people has traveled from England to Czechoslovakia, to Russia. They have also trav-
eled throughout the United States after making their Carnegie Hall debut in 1993. They have recorded numerous selections for Macmillan, Disney and Universal Pictures, among others.
"The Lord has lifted them from where they were to where they are today," said Bebe. "And they come to share their lives and their songs with us. What an opportunity for us to be able to participate in what they have to offer."
Their high-energy and inspiring program will feature several songs in both English and native dialects. The International Children's Choir performance will begin tonight at 7 at Grace Baptist Temple located on the corner of Hwy. 31 and Peavine Road.

When the economy is threatened, sometimes there are those whose creativity is heightened, especially among those who do not hold down a legitimate job. Last week, someone who was posing as a representative of the Kilgore News Herald and the Kilgore Telephone Book attempted to collect money for advertising that business owners had supposedly placed in conjunction with one another. A quick-thinking shop owner in the Liberty City area asked for the representative she knew by name. She also requested further acknowledgement of the ad, in which the imposter had no proof to back up her claim.
"I almost gave her cash money and you know where that would have gone," said the proprietor.
Another business was "hit" on the south side of town by someone posing as an antiques dealer. This shop owner didn't get off quite so lucky and ended up with an $800 loss.
Most company representatives carry business cards and/or will offer you identification and a phone number so you can verify their employment. And YOU have the right to request that information.

Joe Johnson, from the Sabine Volunteer Fire Department, has been seen around town this week sporting a grin from ear to ear. It seems they have just received a grant from Homeland Security towards the purchase of a new tank truck for the department.
"We have to match it with $10,000," said Joe, "but we will gladly do it for that new truck."
Keep those good fish frys going, Joe, and you will have it made in no time.
