KHS girls get big win; boys lose to Hallsville

      In their final non-district game of the season, as they prepared for the district run, the Kilgore High School varsity boys basketball team gave former district rival Hallsville a run for its money. In Nacogdoches, the KHS girls regained a bit of confidence with a huge win.

      It was another big night for the Sabine High School basketball teams, as the Cardinals went to 3-0 in District 18-2A and won their 10th straight game, and the Lady Cardinals got back on the winning track, both against Elysian Fields.

      The NFC semifinal between the Philadelphia Eagles and New York Giants today probably will be played in near-freezing temperatures with wind gusts reaching 25 mph. The National Weather Service said Friday a storm was expected to start Saturday afternoon and end early today, leaving 6 to 8 inches of snow in the area where Giants Stadium is located.
