CHITCHAT CORNER
We're coasting!
If you need motivation, by all means take time to read a book called The Ultimate Gift by Jim Stovall. The book is not very long and it is well worth every minute you spend reading it. "It has been reported 55% of all churches run less than 50 in attendance in Sunday school," said Dr. Charles Whiteside. In an attempt to strengthen the smaller churches in the area, an Old Fashioned January Bible Study has been planned and hosted by five churches in the area. Dr. Whiteside will lead a discussion on Exodus on January 11-14 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. nightly at the Kilgore Community Center located at 622 Kay Street. The churches also meet every fifth Sunday for a good old-fashioned singing. Those churches include Friendship Baptist Church, Rocky Mountain Church, 1st Baptist Church/Danville, Lard Hill Baptist Church and Danville United Methodist Church. Speaking of churches, Reverend Galaway has invited his congregation (and friends) to join him in a Fun Day with the Pastor. It seems they are going on a trip to Carthage's Country Hall of Fame. Isn't he a brave soul… It's "Pick a Pig" at Highland Park Baptist Church. If you're seeing piggy bank setting on counter tops of some our local businesses, dig out the change hidden in your pocket. Sydni Borders has one displayed at high Maintenance Spalon with a letter of explanation that starts out saying, "Change My Life…Help send me to camp. May His Love and Laughter Fill Your Hearts and Homes Throughout the Week. In the meantime, we may be reached at chitchatlinda@aol.com or 903-984-2593.
