Museum hosts rural school exhibit

TYLER — An exhibit titled "Rural Schools: 1870s to 1930s" is currently available for viewing through the month of February at the Carnegie History Center, the museum of the Smith County Historical Society.

Vintage photographs and other items from the society's archives shed light on what both the students and teachers experienced at these rural schools that were located throughout Smith County.

SCHS President Robert Reed encourages the public to allow ample time to also view the other exhibits and documentary films during their museum visit.

The Carnegie History Center is located at 125 S. College Ave. in downtown Tyler.
