Hostages freed from pirates off Somalia, Nigeria

      PARIS (AP) — Pirates freed 20 hostages aboard a Turkish freighter commandeered off the Somali coast, as nine captives on a French boat were released off southern Nigeria, the boat owners said Wednesday. Singers for Haydn bicentennial celebration concert needed
      The East Texas Community Chorus is opening its membership again this spring to community members with singing experience who would like to participate in its upcoming 2009 Masterworks Concert. The concert will celebrate the bicentennial of the death of Franz Joseph Haydn, one of the most prominent composers of the classical period.

Museum hosts rural school exhibit
      TYLER — An exhibit titled "Rural Schools: 1870s to 1930s" is currently available for viewing through the month of February at the Carnegie History Center, the museum of the Smith County Historical Society.
