MRS. NARVELLA L. WASHINGTON BRAZIEL

Funeral services for Narvella Lynell Braziel, 76, of Kilgore will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 6, 2008 at Kilgore Baptist Church with Rev. Paul E. Rodgers officiating. Burial will be in Kilgore Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are under the direction of Victory Funeral Services.

Narvella Lynell Greenwood was born on March 19, 1932 in Jefferson, Texas to Otha Greenwood and Annie Mae Graham Daniels. She was also later reared by her stepfather, Roosevelt Daniels. She departed this life on December 31, 2008 at a Houston hospital.

She graduated from Kilgore Colored High School and later attended Modern Beauty College in Tyler, Texas and Kilgore College. This educational path led her to many years of work in the beauty industry as a hairdresser.

Prior to relocating to Kilgore in her youth; she united with the Corinth Baptist Church in Jefferson. For many years and until her health failed she served at Kilgore Baptist Church. Upon moving to be near her children in Houston, she began her service at New Mt. Calvary Baptist Church.

Her parents, stepfather, sister, Gothal Butler and halfbrother, Samuel Jarrett all preceded her in death.

She leaves to mourn her passing two sons, Don R. King and Edward L. Washington, both of Houston, Texas; and granddaughter, Rachel A. Toliver of Houston, TX.

Public viewing will be Monday, January 5, 2008 from noon until 6 p.m. at Victory Funeral Services.
