DELL BREWER BIRDSONG

Services for Dell Birdsong, 81, of Kilgore will be 2 p.m., Monday, October 6, 2008 at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel with Chris Vidacovich officiating. Burial will follow in Danville Cemetery. Mrs. Birdsong died Saturday, October 4, 2008 in Kilgore.

She was born July 22, 1927 in Eastland, Texas. Mrs. Birdsong attended public schools in Sulphur, Oklahoma. Their family moved to Kilgore in 1937 where Dell graduated Kilgore High School and Kilgore College. She studied accounting at the University of New Mexico and worked for various accounting firms in the East Texas area. Mrs. Birdsong retired from Circle M Well Service. She was a longtime member of the Chandler Street Church of Christ. Mrs. Birdsong enjoyed her affiliations with the Daughters of the America Revolution and the Colonial Dames. She truly loved her family and cherished sharing time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Weekly meals with her siblings at the Back Porch and the Charburger were happy events for her.

Mrs. Birdsong is survived by her sons and daughtersin law, Keith and Dee Norris of Longview, Kenneth and Janice Norris of Kilgore; three sisters, Billie Southwell of Euless, Mary Jo Wilson of Kilgore, Dorothy Brooks of Kilgore; two brothers, James Brewer and his wife, Abbey of Houston, Gene Brewer of Longview; five grandchildren, Brant Brantley of Kilgore, Laura Watts of Mansfield, Texas, Kirk Norris of McKinney, Colt Norris of San Marcos, Kate Norris of Abilene, eight great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Rader Funeral Home Sunday evening between four and six p.m.
