Get your tickets for the Queen's Tea With Kilgore College's Texas Shakespeare Festival opening on July 3, that means it is close to time for the Queen's Tea. The Queen's Tea, which will feature catered food, a string quartet and, of course, lots of Festival actors, will be held on July 15 at 4 p.m. Tickets are on sale at a cost of $40 per person and if a group wishes to book a table there are three options: one for $500, one for $750 and a very special table for $1200. As with show tickets, all proceeds from the Queen's Tea goes back to support the Texas Shakespeare Festival which brings the performing arts right here to East Texas. There are only 118 tickets available for the Queen's Tea so call the box office at (903) 983- 8601 to reserve a place. This year's tea is hosted by Jim and Victoria Eggers at the Crim Mansion, located on Hwy. 259 across from Allegiance Hospital. For those concerned about navigating the beautiful staircase in the home, the tea will be held strictly downstairs in its many spacious rooms. Also, support the Shakespeare Festival by touring the Stratford Room before or after each performance in the Anne Dean Turk Fine Arts Center. There will be souvenirs from each play and many other items to choose from. |
