MARION "M.J." BRASHER

Funeral Services for Mr. Marion "M.J." Brasher, 84, of Kilgore will be held 10 A.M. Thursday, June 26, 2008 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Kilgore Memorial Gardens. The Rosary will be recited at 6 P.M. Wednesday, June 25, 2008 at Rader Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the Rosary Service.

Mr. Brasher was born April 11, 1924 in Tyler, son of the late Otho and Hattie Brasher. He passed away June 22, 2008 at Beacon Hospice at Margaret's House in Longview. Mr. Brasher was a member of Christ The King Catholic Church, 2nd Degree Knight of the Knights of Columbus and The American Legion. Mr. Brasher served in the United States Army during World War II and in the Korean War, where he received several commendations. He was a retiree of Kilgore Ceramics where he worked for over 36 years. During retirement Mr. Brasher worked for several local car dealerships as a driver.

He is survived by his wife Dolores Brasher of Kilgore; children, Staci Landers and husband Myke of Bradenton, FL, Patricia James Murrey and husband Winston of Savannah, GA, Jeanie Whitsel and husband Ben of Ft. Wayne, IN and Danny Brasher and wife Penny of Tyler; sister, Katherine Miller and husband Jerry of Kilgore; seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Brasher was preceded in death by a daughter Barbara Lynn Brasher and brother Thurman Brasher.
