JOHN MEREDITH YOCOM

Services for John Meredith Yocom, 78, of Diana will be at 11:00 a.m., June 21, 2008 at Walnut Creek Baptist Church in Diana, with Reverend Perry Crisp officiating. Interment will be at Walnut Creek Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Diana. Mr. Yocom passed away June 17, 2008, at his residence.

John was born Jan. 1, 1930 in Hope, Arkansas to John M. and Minnie Yocom. He was a member of Walnut Creek Baptist Church. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict, was a manager with Safeway.

He is survived by his wife, Lois Yocom; daughter, Sheri Belew of Diana; son and daughter-in-law, Kirk and Judy Yocom of Diana; daughter and son-in-law: Kerry Sue and Kirk Krienke of Diana; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandson; sister, Frances Simmons of Kilgore; friends and many nephews and nieces.

He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Perry and Percy Yocom and two sisters, Maxine Gaskin and Jean Birdsong.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m.,Friday, June 20, 2008, at Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Diana.
