Public presentations on Kilgore City Council's agenda

Kilgore City Council is scheduled to address a routine agenda Tuesday night, with added public and staff presentations.

William "Charlie" Wilson, Presentation on the Texas Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, and request for Statement of Support from the City Council for the Guard and Reserve.

Other presentations include:

Ronnie Spradlin, council member, who will give an update from Kilgore Boys & Girls Club Youth Advisory Council, of which he is president;

° Tim Hobbs, Kilgore street superintendent, is slated to make a presentation un current and up-coming street projects; and

° Jeff Howell, city manager, will give a computer/network projects and inventory update.

A public hearing is scheduled to consider a request for a Special Use Permit for Lots 13, 14, and 15 of the Parkview Addition, three lots totaling .615± acres, located at the southwest corner of the intersection of Powderhorn Drive (SH 42) and Lantrip Street, fronting 113± feet along the south side of Lantrip Street and fronting 396± feet along the west side of Powderhorn Drive (SH 42) (610 East Lantrip Street). The applicant is requesting the special use permit to operate a day care.

Another public hearing to discuss a proposed ordinance to allow a 90 day moratorium for submitting an application to the City of Kilgore for a Sexually Oriented Business.

Under action items council will consider all matters incident and related to the issuance and sale of $5,400,000 "City of Kilgore, Texas, Tax and Waterworks and Sewer System (Limited Pledge) Revenue Certificates of Obligation, Series 2008," including the receipt of bids therefore and the adoption of Ordinance 1380 authorizing the issuance of such certificates of obligation.

Other action items include:

° Adoption of Ordinance approving a Special Use Permit for a day care for Lots 13, 14, and 15 of the Parkview Addition, three lots totaling .615± acres, located at the southwest corner of the intersection of Powderhorn Drive (SH 42) and Lantrip Street, fronting 113± feet along the south side of Lantrip Street and fronting 396± feet along the west side of Powderhorn Drive (SH 42) (610 East Lantrip Street);

° Adoption Ordinance 1382 allowing a 90 day moratorium for submitting an application to the City of Kilgore for a Sexually Oriented Business;

° Discussion and receive guidance regarding Lantrip Street Park lighting;

° Discussion and receive guidance regarding damage to monument at the Kilgore Veterans Monument at Harris Street Park; and

° Approval of purchase of .25 acres of land in the Mary Van Winkle Survey.
