KILGOROUND

Well I made it through another sweltering season of KBBA baseball. I complain like someone who is not used to the heat, because I am.

All in all it was a good season. Our team made a valid effort at every game and came out of the dugout smiling, even in the face of defeat. The 11-12 CUBS ranked ended the team 7-9 in fourth place and were the only team to beat the 11-12 champs, the D-Backs.

Highlights include: a Grand Slam, by Julian Martinez: four homers, by MVP and all-star player Benny Colbert; three homers by, all-star player Juan "bubba" Reyes; not to forget mention other contributing team players, Trent Ward, defensive gold glove and all-star; Jack Johnston, all-star and primary catcher; Jack was backed up by J.J. Mc- Connell and both boys put on a good show behind the plate; Michael Shankle and clay white,

two of the fasted base runners in the league; Colton Meredith, most improved after this first season with KBBA; Jesus Gonzales and Quavion Mumphrey, utility pitching, outfield, first and third players; and gabriel Gough, one tough hitter.

I am feeling a little older this week. My baby sister just turned 28.
