Laird Memorial Hospital on council agenda Kilgore City Council approved an agreement, last night, with Laird Memorial Hospital and Austin Bank to establish a $400,000 escrow account to pay off $390,000 in outstanding bond debt to the city. In other business, council approved issuing $5.4 million in bonds to reconstruct Chandler Street at the intersections of Woodlawn and Kathleen streets, as well as an approved downtown revitalization plan. Council members plan to release the bonds at their June 24 meeting. Council also approved: - a request from the East Texas Pump Jacks for permission to conduct fireworks displays following home games on June 13, July 5, July 11, and Aug. 1, pending proof of insurance and with fire department presence; - an amendment to the Water Supply Contract between the City of Kilgore and Sabine River Authority, to correct a numerical error in the original SRA contract; and - for the city manager to invest in other real estate or property improvements within the City, besides personal residence, on a case-by-case basis. Kilgore City Council meets again 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 24 at Kilgore City Hall in Council Chambers. |
