KISD to select new high school principal With changes going on in the Kilgore Independent School District, one position looming is the replacement of Kilgore High School Principal Bobby Wheeley. Wheeley took a job in district administration at KISD effective with the end of the regular school year. A search for his replacement has been underway since his promotion was announced earlier in the spring. Last month, Jody Clements, superintendent, said the committee had selected three leading candidates and expected to offer the job to an applicant from Dallas. But, Clements said at that board meeting, their number one selection backed out and the committee would start the search again. Today Clements announced two candidates will be presented to the school board in a special meeting at noon Monday. "The two men will be interviewed at that time by the board and one will be selected if the board feels one meets the qualifications," said Clements. The two candidates are Greg Brown, who is currently the assistant principal at Pine Tree High School, and Philip Works, assistant principal at Sabine High School. "We will be taking care of some other personnel business at this meeting also," said Clements. The school board will meet in the district administration office at 301 N. Kilgore Street. |
