Pairings announced for treatment center tournament
GOLF/ EAST TEXAS TREATMENT CENTER TOURNAMENT

A field of 108 teams is ready to chase the championship of the 46th annual East Texas Treatment Center Golf Classic. The 36-hole two-day tourney is to be played Friday and Saturday at Oak Forest Country Club in Longview. The 2008 field is 37 teams larger than the 2007 field.

The East Texas Oil Men's Golf Association has sponsored the tournament since 1941.

Flighting will be determined after 36 holes by drawing either the Friday or Saturday round.

Most teams playing Friday morning will return to the course Saturday in the afternoon round. The afternoon players on Friday will play Saturday morning. Tee times are 7:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. each day.

Prizes will be awarded to the first four places of each flight. First place in each flight receives $800, second place gets $600, third place $500 and fourth place $200.

The tournament is staged each year for the benefit of the East Texas Treatment Center in Kilgore. The center provides therapy services to all patients regardless of their ability to pay. Proceeds from the tourney help fund services of patients in need of financial assistance.
