TxDot starts work on Hwy. 135

Texas Department of Transportation maintenance crews are scheduled to begin repair and resurface work on State Highway 135 between State Highway 31 and Interstate 20 today.

Work is slated to begin in the outside southbound lane, which will be closed throughout the duration of the project.

The project, which will be done in phases to minimize the impact on traffic, is scheduled to take several weeks.

Work is scheduled to take place during regular weekday work hours, but the roadway is scheduled to be completely reopened to traffic each Friday afternoon in advance of weekend traffic.

Motorists are encouraged to be prepared, reduce speed and merge in and around the work zone.
