'Jacks still looking for host families
TEXAS COLLEGIATE LEAGUE BASEBALL
From special reports

With the home opener two weeks away, the Pump Jacks organization wants to hear from families that may like to host a potential big leaguer this summer

The East Texas Pump Jacks' inaugural season is literally around the corner, and we couldn't be more excited. The historic home opener is just two weeks away, and the Pump Jacks will venture to McKinney two days earlier for the team's first-ever game on June 10.

The Pump Jacks roster is nearly set, but there is still one particular hole that the organization needs help filling. With players slated to arrive this Friday, the team is still looking for host families. Host families provide players with a home for the summer, a room to live in and meals when the team is at home. In exchange, host families receive season tickets for every member of their household - but they also get a whole lot more.

Players become much more than simply tenants for the summer, they become part of the family. The bond that is forged between a player and his host family extends well after the season ends, and oftentimes adopted players remain in touch with their host families for years, even after their baseball careers have ended.

For more information about becoming a host family, please visit the host family page on the Pump Jacks web site, or contact the Pump Jacks office + at (903) 218-4638.

With the season nearly upon us, the franchise needs help to ensure that our players enjoy a first-class experience during their summer in East Texas.

• Online: Keep your eyes peeled on your in-box and the Pump Jacks web site. In the next week, the team will announce a number of players that will be joining us this summer, with standouts from all over Texas - including several from close to home. Fans will also learn about picnics, birth- day parties, and group rates, when individual game ticket sales will begin, and even the names of the dinosaur and donkey mascots. So make sure you get all the latest news by visiting the team's official web site, pumpjacksbaseball.com.
