Well the day many youngsters have been waiting for is here. Today marks the last half day of school and the first half day of summer.

My son has already made plans to abandon our home to spend some time with his papaw, a college instructor with a leisurely summer schedule, on the lakes, rives and ponds of East Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana. I bid the fisherman farewell and hope every kid in Kilgore has a great vacation.
