Shakespeare tickets on sale tomorrow Tickets will go on sale May 31 to the general public for the Texas Shakespeare Festival's summer season. This year's lineup includes Shakespeare's Twelfth Night and Julius Caesar, Peter Shaffer's The Royal Hunt of the Sun, the American musical classic 1776 and The Magic Lotus Lantern, an original children's show based on a popular Chinese folktale. According to John Dodd, managing director of the TSF, the festival auditioned 1,660 actors for only 35 acting positions and received 324 technical applicants for only 56 available positions for the summer season. The TSF Company will consist of 89 theatre artists from 27 states and two foreign countries. Established in 1986, the TSF began as KC's contribution to the Texas Sesquicentennial celebration. The festival grew in popularity and has continued annually ever since. The TSF is the brainchild of Raymond Caldwell, founder and artistic director of the festival.
