HAROLD SHEIK DAVIS

Graveside services for Harold Sheik Davis, 95, of Kilgore will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 30, 2008 at the Rusk County Memorial Gardens with burial following services. Mr. Davis passed away Monday, May 26, 2008 in Kilgore.

Mr. Davis was born October 26, 1912 in Spanish Fort, Texas. As a young child he and his family crossed Texas in a covered wagon. Mr. Davis was the youngest and last survivor of six children. He will be remembered for his love of life, easygoing demeanor and humor. Mr. Davis worked as a salesperson in real estate, oil and life insurance. Those companies included Lago Vista Land Development and Phillips Petroleum as well as several others. Harold loved playing golf, was a staunch republican, an animal lover, and a voracious reader and will always be known as "Pop" to his grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife Christine Spencer Davis, son Michael Marshall Davis and five brothers and sisters.

Mr. Davis is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Judith and Gregory Lee Cox of Bastrop; four sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law; seven grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and his beloved dog Abigail.

The family will receive friends at Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore Thursday evening between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m.
