DORIS DRURY

Services for Doris Drury, 63, of Kilgore will be Tuesday, May 27, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home with the Reverend Barry Metz officiating. Burial will be in the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio following services at Our Lady of Guadalupe in Helotes, Texas May 29, 2008 at 9:30 A.M. Mrs. Drury passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Thursday, May 22, 2008 at her home in Kilgore.

Mrs. Drury was born January 27, 1945 on the family farm in Charlotte, Texas where she grew up. She lived in San Antonio for many years before moving to Houston and marrying her late husband Max Daniel Drury, Jr. Mrs. Drury with her family moved to Kilgore in 1980. She went to work for Sugar and Spice Day Care and retired after being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Mr. Drury passed away in 1993 and Mrs. Drury continued to live alone but was always surrounded by family and friends.

She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Audrey and Bobby Hale of Kilgore and Sarah and Chad Silvertooth of Houston; one son and daughter-in-law Howard A. and Melissa Benavides, Jr. of San Antonio; five grandchildren Meagan Hale, Matthew and wife Shelle Hale, Kyle Benavides, Dean Benavides and Cade Silvertooth as well as other loving family and friends.

Mrs. Drury is preceded in death by her husband Max Daniel Drury, Jr.

The family will receive friends between 6:00 and 7:30 P.M. Monday, May 26, 2008 at Rader Funeral Home.
