In honor of the memory of Citizens Bank's cherished friend and director, Johnny Bolt, the bank will close at 1:30 p.m. on Friday. The drivethru and In-Store facility will be open Friday for regular hours. The main bank will re-open on Tuesday at 9 a.m. for regular business.

Yesterday was the last day to attend school for Kilgore High School seniors, congratulations. For everyone preparing to come an honor those graduates, KHS will be holding their graduation ceremony next Thursday at 8 p.m. at R.E. St. John's Stadium. In the event of a rain out, the ceremony is slated for the same time Friday night.

The Gladewatear Rodo, which cranks up on May 31, is in its 71st season.

Doing the math, Gladewater first got into the rodeo business in 1937. The country was trying to

work its way out of a depression, but times we less hard in the East Texas oil field. So they "poinied" up some prize momey and got in the entertainment business.

It might be worth a drive to Gladewater.
