Thomas Mills, left, and Jimmy Russell, right, were at their second after-church dinner when a mutual acquaintance commented that both were from Kilgore. Neither had realized it until that moment. Both attended Eastview Elementary from 1934 to 1938 and hadn't seen each other since. They reminisced about the first day in the "new" school on Luder Street that had drinking fountains, indoor plumbing and brick construction. Their fourth grade teacher was Opal Borders Glenn, still a Kilgore resident.
