KILGOROUND
KATHRYN MARTINEZ

I got an e-mail this morning, from Bruce Crow, missionary who moved with his entire family to Rzshichiv, Ukraine. Bruce is excited to build a bridge between Kilgore and Rzshichiv as Kilgore and the Ukrainian college town for a 'sister city' relationship. See more on Bruce and his family at www.liftupyoureyes.org and stay tuned as I keep in touch with the effort.

Kilgore ought to have a talent show. So many of our neighbors are talented in so many ways. For instance Bill Adamson, owner of Sabine Pipe and president of Kilgore Economic Development Corporation Board of Directors, plays Bass Guitar with the Shadows, an early 60's rock 'n' roll band; Tiffany Johnston, local artist, has numerous paintings on display in Kilgore; and don't forget the likes of Lana Phillips, another local talent, who sings as if it requires no effort at all; or the News Herald's own Lester Mur-

ray, photographer extraordinaire.

Give it up for another Kilgore's Got Talent contestant.

Autumn completed her first masters degree in art. The second is in fine arts.

Her Thesis exhibition is on display at Lakeview Gallery of Tarrant County College Northwest, in Ft. Worth through June 5. An artists reception and gallery talk are slated 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, May 29.

Send your empty paper towel rolls and old knitting needles to Kilgore Public Library. The library has announced its summer reading program schedule. Check out times and activities at KPLkids.org.

No matter how exciting these activities may seem - especially knitting class - Janet Marley, children's librarian, said the programs are for Kids only. She also said if enough interest is sparked maybe she'll work on adding an adult knitting class later.
