BEEF CATTLE PRODUCERS WORKSHOP Monday, May 19. at the Extension Meeting Room, 115 E. Fordall St. in Henderson, 6 PM. Dr. Buddy Faries, Extension Program Leader for Veterinary Medicine with Texas AgiLife Extensiontopic on dealing with calving difficulties. Other topics: broadleaf herbicide update and implementing good weed control for maximizing forage production and can reduce input costs. Pesticide applicators will be able to earn 1.2 CEU hours in IPM for attending the event. Call the Extension Office for more information 903-657- 0376.

RUSK COUNTY REPUBLICANS will hold their monthly meeting on Monday, May 19, at 6:30 p.m. in the Henderson Federal Savings Community Room on North Marshall in Downtown Henderson. Guest speaker will be Brian Carl with Texas Victory '08. The publicis invited.

THE KHS AG BOOSTER CLUB will have a special called meeting Tuesday, May 27 at 7 p.m. for election of 2008- 2009 officers.

DESCENDANTS OF ANDREW JACKSON REED AND JOHN A. REED are planning a runion for May 16 and 17 at the Church of the Nazarene located at 309 E. Sabine Street. For more information call 903-984-3415.

EL BETHEL MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH #1 in Overton, will host their Annual Chori Day Program, Sunday May 18, at 2:30. Guest Minister will be the Rev. Maurice Hampton, Pastor of Silone Baptist Church in Winona. Host Pastor is Rev. Polk.

THE ANNUAL MEETING OF THE PIRTLE CEMETERY ASSOCIATION will be held on Sunday, June 8 at the cemetery. The cemetery is located on CR 173 N in Kilgore. A business meeting will begin at 10 a.m., followed by the memorial service at 11:30 a.m. followed by lunch. The Pirtle Cemetery Association maintains two historic cemeteries. Those unable to attend but who wish to donate to the preservation of the two cemeteries, please send donation to Pirtle Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 794, Kilgore, TX 75663.

THE ANNUAL MEETING OF THE ROCK SPRING CEMETERY ASSOCIATION will be having their annual Homecoming, 1 p.m. Sunday, June 1. Bing a covered dish to share.If you are not able to attend but would like to make a donation, please send to: 2896 County Rd. 192 E., Kilgore, Tx 75662. All donation to to upkeep and preservation of the cemetery.

KILGORE PUBLIC LIBRARY is looking for donations to for a summer knitting class. Staff is asking the public to bring in knitting needles and yarn. For more information contact Janet Marley at 903-984-1529.

THE LAIRD FOUNDATION AUXILIARY GIFT SHOP is needing book donations. The books are sold for .25¢ to provide prescription durgs for indigent area residents and Kilgore College Nursing Scholarships. Books may be dropped off at the gift shop lacated in the hospital lobby

THE KILGORE HIGH SCHOOL CLASSES OF 1978 AND 1979 will have an organizational meeting at Larry Gaudet's barn 7 p.m. Friday night, April 18. His barn is approximately 2 1/3 miles East of 259 on Baughman Road. For more information call J at 903-984- 2525.
