KISD canvass May 10 election

The Kilgore Independent School District board of trustees held a special meeting yesterday to canvass the May 10 KISD trustee election.

Revard Pfeffer, business manager for KISD said official numbers for the election from Gregg County were as follows.

For Place 1, David Hedrick received 139 votes in early voting, 160 votes at election day for a total of 299 votes. Dereck Borders, also running for Place 1 received 218 votes during early voting and 254 votes on election day for a total of 472 votes, defeating Hedrick.

For Place 2, Dale Henley received 171 votes during early voting and 147 votes on election day for a total of 318 votes. Terry George received 189 votes during early voting and on election day received 265 votes for a total of 454 votes, defeating Henley.

Pfeffer said Gregg County reported out of 6680 registered voters, 787 people turned out to vote, a total of 11.78 percent.
