Commissioners handle routine business

Gregg County commissioners addressed a routine agenda yesterday at a regularly scheduled meeting.

Chuck Williford, Gregg County Sheriff 's Department, was present and received approval for use of inmate labor to paint booths for One Hundred Acres of Heritage Main Street - Downtown Longview, a non-profit organization.

Commissioners approved a transfer of $3180 from the general operating expense budget to the general fund for salaries. The transfer is for payment of part-time expenses.

Commissioners also approved the annual interlocal immunization program contract between the county and Department of State Health Services.

In other business county commissioners:

- turned in monthly road and bridge reports to the county auditor and submitted their respective lists of surplus items scheduled for auction in June;

- approved an interlocal agreement between the county and Community Healthcore (sic), formerly Sabine Valley, to fund a mental health officer;

- approved a renewal service agreement with Texas VINE and approval of the maintenance contract between the county and the Office of Attorney General of Texas; and

- agreed to accept bids for 20,000 to 70,000 yards of dirt to be removed from East Texas Regional Airport.

The next meeting of Gregg County Commissioners' Court is 9 a.m. Monday, May 19 at Gregg County Courthouse in the third-floor Commissioners' Courtroom.
