KILGORE INTERMEDIATE SCHOOL FIELD DAY
On Friday, the Kilgore Intermediate School fourth graders held their Field Day events adjacent to R.E. St. John's Stadium competing in running events from the 50 yard dash to 400 relays and field events such as discus, high jump, softball throw and long jump. Principal Andy Adams marched his contestants out on the field at 8 a.m. and the games lasted all day. (photos left clockwise) Trey Clayborn, 9, in Raquel Morris' class took to the air in the boys longjump. Trey's mom, Teresa Austin was there to cheer him on. Ashley Martin was dead serious in the girls high jump as she cleared three foot, three inches to take first place in the event. Ashley is in Dana Wilson's class and is the daughter of Kim and Steve Martin. Sara Shine, 9, keeps her eyes on her mark as she takes to the air in the girls long jump. Sara is in Kelly Zimmerman's class and is the daughter of Sheri Gillis and Andy Shine. Thomas Billingsley IV, 10, has that look of determination on his face as he let the discus fly. Thomas is in Rachel Brian's class and is the son of Thomas and Judy Billingsley. The KIS fifth graders will take to the field next Friday for their Field Day events.
