Kilgore Garden Club install officerss

2008-2009 Officers (in picture above): Cynthia Adams, President; Carol Hinton, 1st Vice President; Pam Tannehill (standing in for Darlene Bingham, 2nd Vice President); Birdie Barron, Recording Secretary; Peggy Bowne, Treasurer; Martha Lee, Corresponding Secretary; Jean Robertson, Historian; Alice Lowery, Parliamentarian.

The Kilgore Garden Club met in the home of Cynthia Adams with Martha Lee, cohostess. After the financial report, given by Virginia Finklea, other reports of upcoming events were discussed, such as "Yard of the Month," and arrangement for the Shakespeare Festival.

Installation of officers (pictured above) was performed by Patsy Abernathy. Following the business meeting, members gathered for a salad luncheon brought by each member (no two alike). Recipes were provided for each dish. Hostesses provided crackers, peach tea, coffee, and cakes for desert.

Awards voted by members were awarded after lunch: Patsy Abernathy, Program; Cynthia Adams, Gardener of the Year; and Carroll Bolton, Horticulturist. Potted plants were exchanged as year-end gifts.
