Kilgore Senior Citizens met at Lions Club The Kilgore Senior Citizens met Wednesday, April 23, in the Lions building at 307 Rusk Street. President Betty Roebuck opened the meeting at 11:30. Red Fleming led us in the Pledge of Allegiance and Roy Tucker gave the grayer. They played Bingo with President Betty calling, assisted by Pat Smith. The winners were Dorothy Huberman, Mildred Kersh, Gloria Gannaway, Flo Frances, and Dave Connor. We had three visitors: Gloria Gannaway, Lindsey and Lesley Bailey. The birthday of Mickey Heil was announced, so she was serenaded with "Happy Birthday." Forty-one enjoyed our delicious covered dish luncheon. The Secretarys report was approved as read. The Treasurer's report was also approved as read. The Sunshine Lady gave her report: Birthday cards were sent to Francis Lenning, Lois Rogers and Mildred Grimes. Get Well cards to Paul Spear, Lois Rogers, and Edith Ott. A Hello card to Ray Wood. She announced that Lois Rogers' address is Room 501 at the Willows, Ray Wood is at Kilgore Manor, and Paul Spear is in the Assisted Living at Kilgore Manor. Please send cards to the folks. She also announced that Bob Ellzy is now the President of the Lions club. Our next meeting will be Wednesday, May 14. Shari Butler announced the soon-to-be Taste of Kilgore - tickets $7.00. Pat Norvell and Muriel Gault won the door prizes. President Betty closed the meeting with prayer at 12:50. |
