C.K. WILKERSON

Services for C.K. Wilkerson, 86, of Tyler will be held on Thursday, May 8, 2008 at 1:30 PM at Stewart Family Funeral Home with Rev. Nona Duree Taylor officiating.

Entombment will follow in the Rose Hill Mausoleum at Rose Hill Cemetery in Tyler under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home.

Mr. Wilkerson passed away on May 5, 2008 at Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler.

He was born on March 5, 1922 in Madill, Oklahoma to the late Oliver Olen and Nina Bennett Wilkerson. He graduated from Ardmore High School in Ardmore, Oklahoma. He then attended Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona, Oklahoma State College in Stillwater, Oklahoma, and he took many courses at Tyler Junior College. Mr. Wilkerson served in the United States Air Force during World War II. He later spent 14 years in retail, commercial finance, and accounting, and traveled a five-state area. Mr. Wilkerson also served as Vice President of Traders State Bank in Canton when the bank opened on October 1, 1982. After retirement, he was selfemployed and operated his own business in livestock appraisal, consulting, and ranch management in the East Texas area. Mr. Wilkerson was a member of Marvin United Methodist Church.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Wilkerson was preceded in death by two brothers, Archie Wilkerson of Denton and Dr. William Wilkerson of Dallas.

He is survived by a loving family including his wife of 32 years, Aileen Wilkerson of Tyler; a daughter, Karen of Tyler; a son, David of Littleton, Colorado; three sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Bertine of Denton, Mrs. Lovurta Gurley and Mrs. Heloise Ridgway, both of Dallas; nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Pallbearers will be Steve Coker, Earl O'Quinn, Allen Pye, Bill Lumley, Ken Epperson, and Steve Heidrick.

Honorary pallbearers will be Larry T. Long, Sammy York, Johnny Bolt, Paul Bolt, Dale Marsh, Sheriff J.B. Smith, Dennis Santo, Gary Swindle, Berge Boghossian, Gary Sirman, Harold Smotherman, Art Johnson, Floyd Brumby, Edmond Schaded, Bud Pickett, Tony Jarecki, Wayne Littlefield, Mrs. Melinda O'Quinn, Ira Tittle, neighbors and friends of the Ashmore Addition.

Special thanks from the family to the following doctors for their longtime caring and loving support during Mr. Wilkerson's illness: Dr. Steven Keuer and staff, Dr. Frank Navetta and staff. The family's love and thankfulness for the friendship of Dr. and Mrs. Luis Destarac and family, as well as Dr. and Mrs. Scott Rypkema and family of Little Rock, Arkansas.

Family visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, May 7, 2008 from 5:00-7:00 PM at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Highway, Tyler, Texas 75703.
