Kilgore to welcome home its heroes

After a one-year deployment in Iraq, members of the Kilgore National Guard are coming home.

Tomorrow morning, Bravo Co. 3rd of the 144th Infantry Battalion will arrive in Kilgore with a police escort and the Freedom Riders.

The troops, 125 in all, will be arriving at the National Guard Armory at approximately 7 a.m. The Kilgore Fire Department is scheduled to greet the soldiers with crossed ladders, draped with the American Flag.

The troops will be driving in from Mississippi, leaving the night before, arriving from I-20 and turning south on Hwy. 259 where they will pick up their escorts and proceed straight to the armory.

The public is invited to come out and welcome home these East Texas heroes.
