Xi Pi Mu hold monthly meetings The Lake Cherokee home of Jadean Roberts was the site of the March meeting for Xi Pi Mu. Deedy Adams was co-hostess and served refreshments with an Easter theme. President Vicki Clayton called the meeting to order. Deedy Adams, Secretary, reported 19 members present and 4 with excused absences. Lora Black, Treasurer, reported that $175.00 was donated to Helping Hands. Vicki Clayton reported that Pledges will meet with Pat Morchat, Vice President, twice before the Pledge Ritual in April. New members Cookie Gauntt and Diana Coston were accepted. A cultural program was presented by Jill Tyner. She reported on the history and medical benefits of Juice Plus. Members of Xi Pi Mu met at the Back porch for their April meeting. Hostess was Vicki Clayton and co-hostess was Gail Hargrave. Members ordered from the menu for dinner. Pat Morchat, Vice President, led the meeting in the absence of President Vicki Clayton, who was out becoming a grandmother. Secretary Deedy Adams reported 17 members present and 6 with excused absences. Lora Black gave the treasurer's report. Members accepted Ann Thrower as a new member. The Scholarship Committee will present a $150.00 scholarship to Clay Richardson. Debbie McCubbin will present the scholarship at the KHS Awards assembly. The Social Committee reported that the next social will be at the Pickard's home on April 25. New members will be invited to attend. City Council Representative Sherry Lockman reported that Founders Day will be April 21 at 6:30 at the Fireplace Room at St. Luke's Methodist Church. Xi Delta Omega is in charge. The chapter extended congratulations to Evelyn Bolding, this year's First Lady. The slate of officers for next year were elected by acclamation: Pat Morchat, President; Sherry Lockman, Vice President; Lou Ann Morse, Secretary; Kristi McBride, Treasurer; Vicki Clayton, Parliamentarian; Debbie Phillips and Debbie McCubbin, City Council Representatives. Members also performed the Pledge Ritual for Kristi McBride and Roseanne Howell. Lora Black won the door prize. The next meeting will be May 5 at Lora Black's house. |
